Edits, Lapidary, Mayhem, and Shipping: An April Update

April 8th Update

Hello everyone! We’re back from a little time off and hope you all are enjoying your first look at SGtA. We’re here with our first April update to answer a few of the questions you all have asked since the pdf came out.

Typos, Oversights, and Edits

Over the past few weeks, many of you have reached out with questions, clarifications, or edits for Stargazer’s Guide to Aroria and we appreciate those comments and concerns more than you know. We expected a few mistakes to squeak through our edits and are thankful that you all took the time to communicate with us and make SGtA better. We will resend an edited digital version of Stargazer’s Guide to Aroria via Backerkit in the next couple of weeks with the edits you have pointed out along with some of our own. The end of April Update will contain an itemized list of specific changes made to rules for clarification and explanations where necessary.

Artificer Class: Lapidary

The Lapidary Artificer was omitted from Stargazer’s because the Artificer class is not included in the OGL from WOTC. We cannot distribute a PDF of an Artificer subclass through Backerkit because that content cannot be released publicly anywhere other than DM’s Guild. In the coming weeks, we will release a PDF of the Lapidary subclass on Dm’s Guild free to all Backers.

Mayhem Under the Stars: Part 2

During the Kickstarter, one of our stretch goals was an adventure module set in Aroria designed for players levels 1-3. That content is in the works and will be released separately in the coming months via Backerkit and then will be available on DriveThruRPG.

Shipping Update

There isn’t much to say on shipping SGtA yet, other than the process has begun. We’ve acquired the ISBNs and have reconnected with our printing partners to get a proof and final quote for the book. Hopefully, we’ll have more concrete information around those shipping timeframes and SGtA’s availability on DriveThruRPG in the next update.

Stargazer’s Guide to Aroria is HERE!

Adventurers Wanted

It’s finally here! Thanks to all your support, faith, and patience, the digital version of Stargazer’s Guide to Aroria is on its way to all backers. SGtA is a project years in the making. Ink and Lyre has been publishing 5e content for nearly 3 years now and this project represents all the hard work, creativity, and hours and hours of playtesting our team has put into making Aroria come to life. None of it would have been possible without the support you all have shown us and we are so excited to share Aroria with you.

Distribution for digital products is completed via Backerkit. You should have an email with your digital copy of Stargazer’s Guide to Aroria, with original and limited edition art, as a digital download right now. If you do not, double-check your email with Backerkit and send us a message there so we can get it to you as quickly as possible. Further inquiries can be sent to [email protected] or [email protected].

In the next day or two, you will also receive the Gamemaster Suite and other digital products in the same way. We’re double-checking delivery on those since many of those products come in multiple file types and we want to ensure there are no hiccups in delivery.

Next Steps

Now that the creative work on SGtA is complete, the production pieces can begin. Our partners at Nine Realms Gaming and Gamerarti will facilitate the printing and shipping of the SGtA hardback and all the wonderful dice vaults, trays, gm screens, and other goodies you’ve all purchased.

Of the remaining production that must be completed, we expect the printing to take the longest. Our estimates show anywhere from 8 to 12 weeks once the order is placed. Fulfillment and shipping are likely to extend this timeframe, but once the books are in the warehouse, all products will begin shipping together.

Updates Moving Forward

There won’t be much to share as all this production takes place, so we are formally reducing our update schedule to every other week. The next time you’ll hear from us in this format is March 25th. This Kickstarter has been one of the most difficult and rewarding challenges we have experienced here at Ink and Lyre. We love streaming Fate’s End, Iron Valor, and our other shows on Twitch, but publishing and creating new worlds has always been at the heart of what we do here. We strive to make TTRPGs more accessible and easy for new players and GMs to enjoy and we believe SGtA accomplishes that goal. Running games in Aroria is seamless and player integration with the world is at the heart of the character creation in this book. We hope that new and existing players find Aroria to be a rewarding setting to be visited time and time again.

Official Release Date Announcement!

Hello All! We’re here with some exciting news this Valentine’s Day/Super Bowl weekend! The digital version of Stargazer’s Guide to Aroria is coming to you on Sunday, March 6th 2022.

Every pledge level for the Kickstarter included a digital copy of SGtA and we will be delivering that product along with several other digital pieces. Backers who purchased the Astral Character Sheet and NPC Star Chart will receive those and all backers will receive the complimentary Gamemaster Suite along with their PDF.

We’re very excited to FINALLY get the official SGtA product in your hands so you may begin planning your campaign in the world. Though we were unable to hit our expected deadline, we’re very proud of what the setting has become. It’s been such a journey seeing Aroria come to life and we believe taking this extra time to get it right has been well worth it.

Double check your Backerkit Survey to ensure you have an accessible email address and ensure your mailing address is still up to date.

Next Steps:

Our next step is to get the hardback edition of the book, t-shirts, posters, stickers and Nine Realms Gaming products into your hands. As mentioned during the campaign, we’re partnering with Gamerarti to fulfill and expedite these orders. We’ll have more on these expectations in the coming weeks.
